Each company's published fees. Novo's domestic wire is priced at its fee schedule's ceiling, so a month with wires shows the most Novo would charge. International wires sent are not compared. Novo sends them through its Wise integration, at a fee shown before you confirm. Not in the totals: card spending abroad (Novo adds no fee of its own; Relay names Visa's fee), Relay's interest on savings, and Novo's optional express check deposits.

Relay's figures run Starter, Grow, Scale. Novo's same-day ACH is a share of the payment: it costs less than Relay Starter's $1 on payments under $66.67, never less than Grow's $0.50 or Scale's $0, because its minimum is $0.50, and from $1,333.34 it is its $20 cap. For a US wire, Novo publishes only its ceiling, so its exact fee may sit above or below Relay's. On card spending abroad Novo adds nothing, where Relay names Visa's 1% to 2%.

Every fee for the month, with Relay on its cheapest plan and Novo's wires at the ceiling in its fee schedule. The sole trader's month depends on that wire fee: with Novo's ATM refund, Novo costs it less only if its wire fee is under $15.00. The cash shop is the case Novo cannot serve at all, because it does not take cash deposits.

What the fees leave out

International wires sent
Relay charges $5, $3 or $1.50 on its Local Network (euros, pounds, Canadian and Australian dollars) or $25, $22 or $20 by Swift, plus a conversion fee from 1%. Novo sends them through its Wise integration, at a fee shown before you confirm.
Novo's wire fee
Novo's fee schedule says up to $45 and one help article up to $30; the exact fee shows before you send, and only eligible customers can send domestic wires.
Card spending abroad
Novo charges no fee of its own on debit card purchases abroad. Relay names Visa's international service assessment of 1% to 2%, which it says is not a Relay charge.
Interest
Relay pays 1.19%, 1.87% or 3.21% APY on savings, variable, as of September 17, 2026. Novo pays none and has no savings account.
Cash
Relay also takes cash through Green Dot, for up to $4.95. Novo suggests buying a money order and depositing it as a check.
Relay's plans
Grow ($30 a month) and Scale ($90 for a limited time, regularly $120) lower Relay's wire and same-day ACH fees. Novo has no paid plan.
Not in the figures: international wires sent, card spending abroad, exchange rates, interest, Novo's exact wire fee below its ceiling, Novo's optional express check deposits, and Green Dot deposits.
